Subject: [*] Bookstore 2.6, a FileMaker solution for used booksellers
Bookstore2.6 is a FileMaker based solution for antiquarian and used
booksellers. Bookstore is primarily used to keep an inventory of books for
sale and export marked records to the ABE (Advanced Book Exchange) and
Bibliofind Internet reseller services.
In addition, Bookstore2.6 will generate html files for the bookseller's own
web site, including catalog breakdowns and a file for use with standard CGI
search utilities.
Bookstore2.6 is distributed as shareware. In demo mode users will be able
to use all features with a 50 book and 30 day time limit.
Permission is granted to distribute Bookstore2.6, provided that is
distributed free of charge (other than standard charges for disk
duplication or other media fees) and distributed without modification of
any kind.

Subject: [*] CDFinder 2.1
CDFinder 2.1
CDFinder catalogs CD-ROMs, ZIPs, floppies, SyQuests, and everything else that
turns (even your file server..) and allows you to search for anything in those
catalog files.
It is very fast, supports drag&drop, is PowerPC native (but also fast on any
other Mac with at least a 68020 CPU), and is multi-lingual
(English/German/French/Italian).
CDFinder is shareware (15 US$ for a single user license) and already quite
popular.
Payments can be handled by Kagi, allowing you to pay with credit card, check or
cash.
New features in CDFinder 2.1:
- Catalog contents can now be sorted and the sort order can be reversed.
- New catatalogs can be created directly inside a folder by just dropping the
icon into it.
- The "Get Info" window now shows the size of a folder.
- Renaming a catalog now also renames the catalog file.
- A lot of important bug fixes and improvements.
Please give it a try!

Clock Talk 1.3.3
Clock Talk allows your Macintosh to chime and/or speak the time at
quarter hour intervals. You select the chime and voice and Clock Talk
will remind you of the time. It is great for those who find they loose
track of time while working away at their computer. Clock Talk also has
a definable hot key that allow you to hear the time whenever you want.
Version 1.3.3 is now Appearance Manager and theme savy. The chime and
speech routines have been rewritten to be more reliable and take up less
memory. There are no new features in this release, all new features will
appear in a future release.

Subject: [*] Default Folder D-2.8.1 - German version of Open/Save dialog enh
Default Folder is a shareware control panel that enhances Open and Save
dialog boxes to make it easier for you to manage files on your Macintosh.
It provides many of the essential features of the commercial SuperBoomerang
and Directory Assistance utilities, but without the infrequently used
extras that take their toll in compatibility, memory, and CPU usage. And
it's fully compatible with Mac OS 8.1.
Default Folder's time-saving Open and Save dialog enhancements allow you to:
- Set up a default folder for any or all applications.
- Switch among recently used folders from a pop-up menu.
- See available disk space and switch between disks from a pop-up menu.
- Click on a Finder window to display it in an Open or Save dialog.
- Open the folder shown in an Open or Save dialog in the Finder.
- Create folders, get information (including changing name, type, and
creator), and move items to the Trash from within file dialogs.
- "Rebound" back to the last file you used.
- Make "Replace" the default option instead of "Cancel" when saving
a file with the same name as an existing file.
- Speed up the display of Open and Save dialogs by turning off custom
color icons in the file list.
Default Folder will operate on any Macintosh running System 7 or higher.
In addition to the standard internet archives, information and updates are
available at:
Default Folder may be included on the UMich and Info-Mac CD-ROMs.
Version 2.8.1 incorporates the following changes:
-----------------------------------------------
Feature Additions:
- The folder menu in Open/Save dialogs now contains an item to open the
folder that contains the current application.
- New Default Folder Strip control strip module. Default Folder Strip
provides access to recently used and favorite folders in the Finder.
Bug Fixes:
- Default Folder's support for Graphic Converter 3.1's "Convert More" command
was not working correctly. Pressing the option key in "Convert More"
will now correctly switch the file listing to the folder currently under
the mouse cursor.
- Worked around a bug in Apple's Japanese Language Kit, which caused Open
and Save dialogs in control panels to take several minutes to display.
- The number keys on the keypad are now supported as command keys for Default
Folder's permanent folder menu items.

this is another submission to the info-mac collection. In the attachment,
there are three free message plug-ins to be used with Eudora 3.x for the
Macintosh. They will convert the text (or a selected part) of the email
message in the frontmost window (as long as it can be changed, i.e. it's
usually an outgoing message). The plug-ins and their converters are:
Remove Quote/Spaces
Remove Quote:
removes quote string (as set in Eudora's settings) from
the beginning of the line
Remove Prefix Spaces:
removes spaces at the beginning of a line
Remove First Char of Line:
removes the first character in a line
Multiple to One Space:
reduces occurrences of multiple spaces to a single space
Space Tabs Converter
Tabs to Spaces:
expands tabulators to the appropriate number of spaces
Spaces to Tabs:
compacts spaces to tabulators
Spaces (>1) to Tabs :
compacts spaces to tabulators if there are at least two spaces
Wrap/Unwrap
Wrap:
re-wraps text both at occurrence of a space or a hyphen using
Eudora's wrap line length; leaves space (or hyphen) at end of line
Unwrap:
unwraps selection, consecutive lines that end with a space or a
hyphen are joined
This is the first released version (1.0). The attachment (called
Quote-Spaces-Tab-1.0.sit, a Stuffit archive, 35 KB, binhexed) consists of
four files, the three plug-ins and a read-me file:
Eudora Plug-ins Read Me 16 KB
Remove Quote/Spaces 30 KB
Space Tabs Converter 26 KB
Wrap/Unwrap 23 KB

Subject : FinderNote 2.0 - The amazing note utility!
FinderNote is a simple text editor whose documents can be read in the
Finder (on the Desktop) without needing to run any application. This means
that these notes open up as quickly as any other Finder window. This is
possible because a FinderNote document is a particular type of file that
Apple call a 'clipping'.
Clippings are very handy for keeping memos, to-do lists, notes about
other files or folders, 'boilerplate' text (like letterheads) that you can
insert into other documents - the list is almost endless.

Subject: [*] HelpLess 1.1.1J - Japanese Version
This is the Japanese version of the HelpLess package.
Ever wished you could stop the Apple Guide or other help systems swinging
into action when you hit the 'Help' key by accident instead of the delete
key? Tired of waiting for Apple Guide to start up while you're busy trying
to edit a document?
Then HelpLess is what you're looking for. HelpLess is a System Extension
and Control Panel that helps people with extended keyboards avoid the
annoying delay that occurs when the Help key is hit by accident instead of
the delete key.
Without HelpLess installed there can be quite a long delay while the
current application launches it's help system in response to the "help" key
being pressed. For example in the Finder there is a delay while Apple Guide
is launched.
With HelpLess installed hitting the "help" key causes nothing more that a
simple beep to be played. This alerts the user to their mistake and they
can then just carry on typing without waiting for the help system to swing
into action. When you want help to appear you can just hold down a modifier
key and HelpLess will make it look like you pressed the 'Help' key.
A simple control panel interface lets you turn it's activity on/off,
control if a beeps will sound, and choose which modifier key to use.
Compatible with System 7.0 upwards including MacOS 8.

niceDesktop quickly hides all the running applications except the Finder
when it is selected from the processes menu (the one all the way to the
right...).
This saves a trip to the process menu. Instead of choosing "Finder" and
then right away choosing "Hide Others," you can just choose
"niceDesktop." This saves about .5 seconds. A graphic designer friend of
mine claims that this will save him at least 6 hours a year! Well worth
the $5, right? If you use this software, please register it. I put alot
of work into it, so if it helps you, and you use it, register.
Registrations are handled by Kagi Shareware. Register online at:
http://order.kagi.com/?M8
Drop niceDesktop in your Startup Items folder and try it out! If you hold
down the command key while selecting niceDesktop from the process menu,
it will not hide all the applications, nor itself. You may then select
Quit or About... from the menus.
niceDesktop's file size is only 9k and uses only 36k of RAM, so you can
leave it running all the time.

Subject: [*] Sokoban 2.4, classic push-the-blocks game
Sokoban is a puzzle game requiring logical thinking and puzzle-solving, not
lightning-fast reflexes. The goal is to push boxes through a twisty,
crowded maze to their correct destinations. The challenge comes in having
to plan ahead: in the process of moving the first box, you might accidently
push another one into a corner where you can't get it out. Or you might
push the second box next to a third box, then later realize you can't push
the third box without pushing the second one into a corner. And so on....
Levels can be easy enough for a child or difficult enough to keep an expert
puzzled for hours. Fortunately, you can skip the hard levels and come back
to them later.
This is an update to version 2.3. New features include:
- Optionally plays sounds while moving
- You can use the space bar to redo (very handy!)
- Solved levels in external collections are remembered
- Undo works on entire actions instead of one step at a time
- Updated my addresses
- More-visible crosshair cursor
Other features:
- Over 400 levels, separated into collections. Most are challenging for
adults, but one collection is designed for young children.
- Infinite undo
- Easy-to-use movement controls automate potentially tedious parts of a
level, letting you dedicate your energy to the interesting parts.
- Can make your own levels and share them easily
For more info, visit http://members.aol.com/SokobanMac/
System 7 or higher (including MacOS 8) is recommended, but Sokoban also
works with system 6. Requires only 200K of memory.

Subject: InformInit - a must buy
Hi!
Probably that many of you know about this great shareware, but I would like
to comment on InformInit. I got it on a CD which came with the last number
of SVM Macintosh from France (available in Canada). In the beginning, I
taught it was another of those great OFTEN MISLEADING effort to catalog all
of those things there is in the System Folder. After careful reading, the
guy seems to be damn right about everything. I read all the explanations
carefully.
I just reinstalled my system 7.5.3 updated to 7.5.5 from scratch because I
wanted to get a clean System and get rid of Open doc and other things like
that. I added many things over the years and I was not satisfied with the
state of my System. Three days later I was finished with the job and
InformInit help me a lo with the final touch.
The cost is a mere 15$ U.S. and the payment is very easy.
The latest version is at http://www.AmbrosiaSw.com/DEF/InformInit.html
I am not related to the author and I do not have any financial interest in
this product. But, by supporting it, we will be doing justice to someone
who did a great job.

low price. I do know how they were able to do that, since this System is
