Subject: [*] Event Countdown 1.0
Event Countdown is a program that counts the number of certain days between two
dates and creates a bar graph showing the percentage of days gone. You choose
which days of the week you want it to count, and only those days will be
counted.
Holidays can also be added so those days will not be counted. This program is
ideal for students counting the number of days until school is out for the
summer, or other people counting the number of work days until vacation!

you determine why system conflicts are
happening. It utilizes an extensive database of
information to help determine which control

Subject: [*] MacMedic Demo
MacMedic is a maintenance, repair, data recovery, data backup and
configuration management support tool for Macintosh computers. MacMedic
supports the new Extended File Format (HFS+) format being shipped on all
G3 Macintoshes (also supports standard HFS) and comes on a bootable CD.
The program is designed to save time, money and resources by allowing
complete system configuration management, analasys and maintenance of the
users Macintosh. The release of MacMedic now provides users the resources
that previously did not exist to manage their HFS+ formatted disks. Total
Recall Software has designed MacMedic to diagnose and repair all known
filesystem problems and is a result of over 9 years of data recovery
experience by Total Recall Data Recovery.
MacMedic collects system information by scanning the users Macintosh at
the finder and sub-system level. Clear, concise instructions are provided
when any problem is encountered along with the recommended solution.
MacMedic also features "QuikExam" which allows the user to quickly exam
their Macintosh for any potential problems that will affect performance
or data integrity. MacMedic uses SMART Teknology to analyze each user's
configuration using a built-in knowledgebase of problem solving
information. This knowledgebase contains information about 8,300
different problems covering more than 10,500 third-party products to
actively detect both actual and potential problems. Once problems are
detected, MacMedic creates an easy-to-read report about each Macintosh
describing all problems with specific instructions for fixing each one.
The report also lists the configuration information collected about each
system which can be exported and used for tracking corporate assets and
managing inventory.
MacMedic also has a simulation feature which allows users to test
proposed system upgrades. A variety of configuration elements can be
simulated including different Macintosh models, memory configurations,
system settings, monitor characteristics, or any versions of Apple's
system software. MacMedic detects and tells how to fix conflicts,
incompatibilities, improperly installed files, environmental problems,
insufficient disk space, duplicate files, memory problems, and damaged
files.
System requirements are: System 7.1 and higher, color monitor, hard disk
and 4mb RAM

Total Recall Software Announces SpaceMaker
COLORADO SPRINGS, CO - Today Colorado Springs-based software developer, Total
Recall, Inc., announced a HFS to HFS plus conversion utility called SpaceMaker.
The new product, shipping now, reclaims unused disk space by converting Mac OS
Standard format disks to Mac OS Extended format. SpaceMaker converts your disks
to Mac OS Extended format without requiring a full backup of your hard disk
before converting. SpaceMaker is easy-to-use, safe and reliable. Other benefits
are:
1. "Smart" guide analyzes disk and makes recommendations for conversion
based on disk characteristics
2. Thoroughly examines disk for errors and inconsistencies before
converting to Mac OS Extended format
3. Safe and reliable. Preserves disk contents even in case of power
outage or system failure
4. Automatically selects the optimum block size to provide the best
balance of space and performance - following all of Apple's guidelines for
creating Mac OS Extended format disks
5. Permits minimum (512 byte) block size selection
6. Fully defragments disk after conversion to maximize disk performance
7. Preserves all applications, files, preferences, aliases and desktop
database information
8. Easy-to-use, highly graphical interface provides constant feedback to
monitor disk conversion
9. Can automatically create bootable floppy disk for easy conversion of
startup disks
Unlike the other HFS conversion program, SpaceMaker thoroughly analyzes disk for
errors and inconsistencies and makes recommendations for conversion based
on disk
characteristics. SpaceMaker's features and performance are unmatched.

extended file

Stock Tracker is a program that enables you to keep track of stock purchases and
sales transactions. This program allows you to see which shares of stock you
have available to sell and how much you bought them for. I wrote this because I
needed some way to keep track of how many shares I had left at a particular
purchase price.

Tune in this week to an exploration of Channel Definition Format and the
TidBITS Channel. Will it be renewed next season? We also explore the
options available to new iMac owners for transferring files and connecting
old printers. Developers should read on for an important change coming in
Mac OS 8.5, and in the news, Open Door Networks ships a public beta of
their personal firewall DoorStop, and Connectix sells the QuickCam to
