AutoBoot version 1.6.1
Are you running a Web server, BBS, kiosk, file server or any other kind of
server ? Do you use a remote access package (Timbuktu, ARA, ...) or do you
use your Mac for receiving faxes ? Do you depend on your Mac being
available all the time ? Unfortunately, your Mac is not always as reliable
as it should be. Crashes and system freezes can make your life a horror.
Have a look at AutoBoot. AutoBoot is a Control Panel which will restart
your Macintosh after a System Error or a Freeze-Up has occurred. AutoBoot
ensures maximal availability of unattended Macs.
As many users can testify, AutoBoot can be a real life saver. No Mac server
should be without it !
Version 1.6.1 changes: some internal changes and minor bug fixes.

Subject: [*] bedlam-2-104.hqx
Ground Zero Software, Inc. releases Bedlam 2 version 1.0.4.
Bedlam 2 is a fast action, arcade-style game with forty-five levels
of blistering game play. Mankind has been virtually wiped out by an
extraterrestrial armada! This shoot'em up game play puts you in the
seat of the XJ-777, code-named "Annihilator". Only you can help save
the solar system from ruthless alien domination. As you blast away at
the invading forces, your ship moves along the bottom of the screen
trying to avoid a barrage of enemy firepower, collisions with attacking
ships and the occasional chunk of floating space debris. By racking up
points along the way, you earn much-needed extra ships, and can even
capture hunks of gold bars released when you've demolished the ships of
some of the greedy trespassers. Other fun and nasty surprises
materialize during your long mission to free our galaxy from this evil
infestation.
Bedlam 2 contains over 10 music tracks utilizing QuickTime technology,
tons of sprites, high-quality "stereo" sound effects, and several full
256 color images. The many exciting and nerve-wracking features are
sure to challenge your senses and give your mouse finger a workout.
Version 1.0.4 is highly recommended.
Version 1.0.4 changes.
- This version includes some important bug fixes. These include
drawing to an unlocked graphic port and a few memory leaks. This
had the potential of causing Bedlam 2 to 'lock-up' on some Macs.
- Alien ships don't stay stationary at the bottom of the screen as long.
- Modified some of the graphics, both still images and sprites.
- Improved upon the error checking.
- Made it where the game can be quit (Command-Q) while the game loads.
- Added a 'special weapons depleated' sound.
- Added Bedlam 2 T-shirt file.
- Added another hidden feature to the game. This one is the asteroid
quick kill bonus. Registered users get the page full of hidden
features. Another one of these features is being able to skip
through the game start and travelling sequences by pressing the
mouse button.
More information about Bedlam 2 is available at our web site

Subject: [*] Combadge 1.0.1
Combadge is a real time email companion, perhaps best described as a cross
between a talk, chat and email. Combadge will let you chat in real time
with other Combadge users without needing to know where they are - you
simply use their email address and Combadge finds them. If they are not
running Combadge, then Combadge will send your message to them using email
so you do not even need to know if they have Combadge.
1.0.1 contains a few minor tweaks to improve network performance and added
support for informing users of new versions.
Features
* Easy User Interface.
* Real time chatting if both parties have Combadge.
* Email messages if they do not have Combadge.
* Connect using email address.
* Log conversations to email.
* Automatic configuration.
* Answering machine facility.
Combadge requires a Macintosh with Internet connectivity.
Combadge is US$25 shareware. Site and organisation-wide licenses are also
available for US$500 and US$2000 respectively.

HexEdit v 1.2
Copyright =A9 1993 Jim Bumgardner
Portions Copyright =A9 1996 Lane Roathe
Here is my modified version of HexEdit, which I have placed at version 1.2
(v1.0x is
from Jim Bumgardner, v1.1x is from Dave Polaschek)
*** From Jim's original Docs:
HexEdit is a hexdump viewer and editor that works similarly to the hex
editor provided
with Apple's ResEdit. It allows you to edit either the data fork or the
resource fork of a
file.
I wrote HexEdit because I needed to be able to insert/delete bytes from
the data fork of
files I was testing, and tools like FEdit don't have insert/deletion.
HexEdit is freeware. The author retains the copyright, including the
right to alter or sell
the program. You may use and copy HexEdit only on a non-commercial basis.
You
may not sell this program without the author's permission.
*** New features added:
* Ability to compare two files, & preferences for this feature
* Ability to switch between forks of the same file with a menu command,
even if the other fork has not been directly opened yet (ie, it
auto-opens).
* Source code is now completely free of warnings (well, in CodeWarrior
anyway)
* Source is now Universal Headers 2.x compatible
* Program is not "fat", with source modifications for Power PC compiles
---------
The original idea for file comparison was made by Jeff Smith.
Please, feel free to distribute this version of HexEdit as you please, I'd
just ask for
appropriate credit. I happen to use this program quite a bit, so if you
make any changes
please let me know, and I will try to get them into a new version.

Subject: [*] HotlineHelper 1.5
What is HotlineHelper?
HotlineHelper is a shareware application created to extend Hotline Server
(68k or PPC) by Hotline Software, Inc. with features, that improve the
user
interface of your site. These features enable remote users to:
search files on your server by name
quickly find the most recent uploads
download a text index file of your server.
Furthermore HotlineHelper is able to empty your servers trash
automatically. HotlineHelper has to be installed on same machine as
Hotline Server, at least it
has to have access to the files on the server via FileSharing.
HotlineHelper does not communicate with Hotline Server. It's therefore
possibly to use it with file transfer software different from Hotline
(like FTP).
However, HotlineHelper has been designed with Hotline Server in mind.
Some features might seem useless or will not work at all if you use
another file
transfer server.
New Features in HH 1.5
improved performance
new improved interface
slider for cpu-usage
more setup options for each task
Appearance manager native (if installed)
Index tasks can now create unix text files
full drop box protection
new HTML manual
better handling of aliases thats originals are not mounted
System Requirements
HotlineHelper requires a 68k or PPC equipped Macintosh with at least:
System 7.5
Thread Manager and Drag Manager (built-in in System 7.6 and later)
2 MB free RAM
1 MB of disk space.

Subject: [*] SELDON- Mac Decison Analysis and Support
A fully functional version of SELDON, a System for Effectively
Legitimizing Decisions Objectively and Naturally is now available for a
thirty day trial.
SELDON is a powerful decision analysis and support tool for business
environments that runs on PowerPC Macintosh computers. SELDON can also
be applied to virtually any every day decision-making activity, such as
home and auto buying, college selection, investment strategies, medical
options(!) or any other topic that requires you to evaluate and make
decisions.
SELDON is the first product of its kind that can truly integrate into
real world business and consumer-oriented decision making. A few
interesting examples of how SELDON may be used includes:
- business and marketing scenario development- choose which technology
to fund, or choose which customers to pursue;
- real estate- narrow a client's selections and increase the likelihood
of closing;
- proposal support- guide a business toward the selection of a winning
proposal;
- data mining- sift through large quantities of customer preference
information to more effectively target marketing resources;
- employment screening- add insight and structure to the candidate
selection process; and,
- consumer-oriented- family decision making, such as college selection,
career planning, investment strategies, etc.
We invite you to visit IsoQuantic Technologies' web site at

Subject: [*] Twistory 1.0 FAT - History Browser
Twistory 1.0 FAT
"Twistory" is a history browser. It displays the lifetimes and
travels of historical figures, and dates and locations of historical
events. It is a tool for keeping track of when and where things happened,
and their relationships to each other. A resource of over 750 people,
events and places is included. The database has a simple text format, so
that more historical information can be added by any user. A complete
description of the file format is included.
The two main windows are the time-line window, which shows lives and
events against a variable time scale, and the map window, which shows
people and events in their geographic locations during an interval of time.
There is also a genealogy window which shows the ancestors and descendants
of the selected person and a "This Day in History" window which lists all
milestones occurring on a particular day of the year.
The program is called "Twistory" because it puts a new "twist on
history." It is not intended - and cannot be used - as a substitute for
proper reading and research into a historical period. Rather, it is meant
to provide a way to keep track of the multitude of different peoples,
dynasties, empires and developments throughout history. It is intended to
answer questions like, "What else was happening in the world at that time?"
and, "Did A live at the same time as B, or before?" It is intended to
provide the user with "the big picture."
Twistory is a FAT binary, and requires system 7. It uses about 3 Mb
of disk space, and needs about 2 Mb of RAM to run comfortably. With a
large monitor or with several windows open, 4 Mb is better. Instructions
are included in both TEXT and HTML format.
Twistory is $10 (US or CAN) shareware. You may evaluate it for free.
If you use it regularly, keep it for more than one month, or use it for
presentation to a group, I would appreciate getting a little something for
it. If you feel so obliged, you may send the payment to the address
included with the program. If you desire support, please send your e-mail
address along, and I will write back.

Subject: [*] Verbs & Nouns 2.0.1 - foreign language learning
Here is the new version of the 'Verbs & Nouns' application - 2.0.1
'Verbs & Nouns' is an application for practising inflection, translation
and pronunciation at the level of single words. Features include the
opportunity to do inflection exercises, and translation exercises in
both directions; to record and play sound for single words; and to do
exercises based on sound. The program keeps a record of exercises, and
identifies the words that the student has difficulty with. Along with
the program, you need a module for the target language concerned. The
program can also be used as an authoring tool to write your own modules
of inflected words for any language. A built-in 'inflection-generator'
simplifies the addition of these words. A 'Find' feature allows the
modules to be used as bilingual dictionaries.
