Subject: [*] ACE Realmz 5 module
This package is designed for use with the application "ACE!" version 1.2.1.
ACE! is a save game (character) editor which uses plug-in 'modules' to
extend it's use. The complete ACE! package can be obtained from any
Info-Mac mirror (version 1.2.1 is the most recent).
The "Realmz 5.x" module allows you to edit character files from Realmz
version 5.0 or higher. The original Realmz module supplied with ACE will
not correctly open Realmz 5 character files.
This file should be archived in the 'game' directory.
This file has been checked for viruses with Disinfectant version 3.7.1.
Permission is given for this program to be included on the Info-Mac CD rom.

Subject: [*] ClickTyper 1.2 - for people who can't use a keyboard
What is ClickTyper?
ClickTyper is an innovative application program intended for people who
can't use
a keyboard. It gives you the freedom to write with your computer. You don't
even have to move the mouse - you can edit text and use the other features
of the
program just by pressing the button of the mouse. ClickTyper allows you to
browse existing text, print it, get the computer to read it aloud to you, or
export it as a text file. The program also provides audio feedback to help you
keep track of what is happening.
ClickTyper requires: Mac OS version 7.1 or higher and a minimum of 2600K of
available memory (RAM).
ClickTyper is shareware, if you use it for more than a week or two, please
register your copy. Once you have registered, you are considered registered for
all future versions of ClickTyper, so you do not need to pay any additional fees
when you upgrade to a new version.
ClickTyper can be freely distributed, either online or on CD-ROM without
restrictions, provided that the original package is included.
For more information, please read the enclosed Read Me file.

Subject: [*] Fetch-O-Matic 2.1 automated website maintenance via FTP
Fetch-O-Matic (v 2.1) is a new approach to automated website maintenance
via FTP. Fetch-O-Matic allows web authors to freely create and update files
locally without needing to keep track of their work, and then automatically
catalog the alterations and update the website.
Fetch-O-Matic differs from other available synchronization and maintenance
schemes in that it does not require any local machine to have a complete
site copy. For example, one might decide to grab a few pages and change
them (and/or add some new files) from a Powerbook. Later, the site copy on
the primary machine can be quickly brought up-to-date with just two clicks
- without having to remember what was changed or open the Powerbook.
Fetch-O-Matic is extremely easy to use. Novice web authors in search of a
simple way to update a personal web page won't be intimidated by its power.
Experienced hands will find that previously dreaded operations such as
multi-file search and replace, with the subsequent headache of tracking
down and uploading scattered altered files, are rendered painless. Transfer
errors such as uploading/downloading to the wrong directory are a thing of
the past. If several people are maintaining a site they are protected from
treading on each other's updates.
Fetch-O-Matic was conceived and developed to fill a need in servicing a
large site (http://www.filmscouts.com). Uploads and downloads of thousands
of files at once have been performed with ease. But even on a site with
just a few pages, Fetch-O-Matic will ease the updating chores.
Fetch-O-Matic requires Dartmouth's FTP client "Fetch", AppleScript, the
scripting addition Jon's Commands, and, optionally, Alessandro Levi
Montalcini's "List Files" (providing a significant speed improvement for
large sites), all of which are readily available online. Fetch-O-Matic runs
on any Mac OS machine with reasonable (8mb+) RAM running System 7 or 8. It
runs in the background. It is shareware with a single-user license fee of
$20. There is a free 30-day trial period.
Version 2.1 adds new features (most significantly, continuous unattended
operation and the ability to add to an upload in progress), and works
around a bug in Jon's Commands 2.0.3.

Subject: [*] MeatierLottoJist 1.0.1
MeatierLottoJist 1.0.1 is a shareware lottery tracking and wheeling program
for Macintosh. It was written to fill a void. Basically, I was looking for a
program that did this and couldn't find one, so I wrote one.
The program can track any number of Pick 5 or Pick 6 lotteries, displays the
history of winning numbers, generates statistics, and will even suggest
numbers to play if you want it to. You can play your numbers on a wheel or by
punching in the numbers manually.
The program comes with 5 Pick 5 wheels and 5 Pick 6 wheels, and registered
users can import new wheels into the program. If you are unfamiliar with
wheeling this is a good place to learn. Basically a wheel allows you to play
more than just 6 numbers when you play the lottery. It also comes with
several filters, and some sample databases of lotteries. And it does support
bonus numbers.
MeatierLottoJist is good for the serious lottery player who needs a place to
store wheels or a way to keep track of tickets, or for casual players who just
want to have a little more fun.
The demo version is free to download and use, however the Save function has
been disabled and you will not be able to import any new wheels into the
program. Registration is $19.95. After you register you will be provided
with a code which unlocks the program.
This is the first official release by FIDIM Interactive. For more information
about FIDIM please visit our web site at
.
Please email me before including this software on any CD-ROMs or FTP sites. I
will undoubtedly say yes. I just want to know where the program is going.
Thanks.

Subject: [*] paper_chaste0.7.hqx: Error analysis of writing
Paper Chaste is a tool to aid teachers in analyzing writing samples in the
Roman alphabet. This HyperCard stack calculates the frequency of recorded
mistakes so that you can guide students toward correcting the most common
mistakes found within their writing as a group, and it does a simple
statistical analysis--mean, median, variance, standard deviation, and
standardization [z = (X-Mean)/Standard Deviation] of final "gravity of
error" totals that are then transformed into grades/marks on an alterable
(mean) scale. The mistakes themselves must be entered into a list *by the
user*, where they can then be repeatedly loaded into students' reports by
clicking on the line containing the error. P_C comes with a list of around
90 grammatical errors (in French) and over 20 student reports to serve as
data examples. The program is in some ways just a shell that you have to
fill in with your own expertise, i.e., P_C does NOT analyze the writing for
you; it analyzes the mistakes that you record. Aside from the analysis, the
other primary objective of the program is to more actively involve the
students in correcting their own mistakes by providing reports to guide
them. Documentation is limited to the FAQ file that is bundled with the
program.
This initial release is copyrighted freeware
Requirements: HyperCard 2.2 or better
Size of uncompressed stack: approximately 105K
File virus-checked with Disinfectant 3.7.1
NB: Paper Chaste may be included on the commercially available CD-ROM of
the archives.

Subject: [*] Red Pencil
Red Pencil is a search engine and 'server' for Press Releases. It was
established to collect and disseminate information in the form most useful
to the various news media, and to make it possible for small organisations
and even individuals to gain the same kind of breadth of access to the
media that only large organisations have previous enjoyed.
Professional news-journalists can use it as an automated news-gatherer,
using the built-in automatic delivery system - which is clever enough to
select which kind of Press Releases to send, once it's been given suitable
parameters to match.
This archive is a 'roamer' submission-form for Red Pencil ... meaning that
you can load it as a local file in your browser, and use it to compose and
submit Press releases 'off line'. When you're ready, you can hit the
'submit' button on the form, and your computer will automatically dial up
and send off your entry, which will be available to a world-wide audience
only moments later.
For further information, please visit the Red Pencil website at
http://www.redpencil.com
or contact
mailbox@netset.co.uk
( P.S. Red Pencil is *new*, which means that there may be a few rough
edges, and it doesn't have much in it - yet - so if you find anything
wrong, confusing, or not working, please notify us. We'll be very grateful
and we'll attend to it as soon as we can ... we promise.)
