Subject: [*] BBTidy v1.0b9: BBEdit plugin checks and corrects HTML and XML

When editing HTML it's easy to make mistakes. Wouldn't it be nice if there
was a simple way to fix these mistakes automatically and tidy up sloppy
editing into nicely laid out markup? Well now there is! BBTidy is a BBEdit
(and BBEdit Lite) plugin for Mac OS designed for doing just that. BBTidy
checks and corrects HTML and XML to make it compliant with the Worldwide
Web Consortium (W3C) HTML standards.

BBTidy also works great on the atrociously hard to read markup generated by
specialized HTML editors and conversion tools, and can help you identify
where you need to pay further attention on making your pages more
accessible to people with disabilities.

BBTidy is able to fix up a wide range of problems and to bring to your
attention things that you need to work on yourself. Each item found is
listed with the line number and column so that you can see where the
problem lies in your markup. BBTidy won't generate a cleaned up version
when there are problems that it can't be sure of how to handle. These are
logged as "errors" rather than "warnings".

BBTidy corrects the markup in a way that matches where possible the
observed rendering in popular browsers from Netscape and Microsoft.

BBTidy is based on the freely available "Tidy" program by Dave Raggett.
BBTidy performs in a compatible way to "Tidy", but has a graphical user
interface (GUI), and takes full advantage of BBEdit's features. Balloon
Help is available for the configuration dialog.

For more information on Dave Raggett's "Tidy", browse the enclosed HTML
file "overview.html", visit the author's web site at
<http://www.w3.org/People/Raggett/tidy>, or EMail <mailto:dsr@w3.org>.

For more information on BBEdit, visit Bare Bones Software's web site at
<http://web.barebones.com>, or EMail <mailto:support@barebones.com>.

The current version of BBTidy and other products based on "Tidy" for Mac OS
can be found at <http://www.geocities.com/terry_teague/tidy.html>.

System Requirements :

Any Macintosh (except Macintosh 128K, Macintosh 512Ke, Macintosh Plus,
Macintosh SE, Macintosh Portable, PowerBook 100, Macintosh Classic) running
System 7.0 or later.

The "Carbon" version of BBTidy requires Mac OS 8.1 + CarbonLib 1.0.2 or
later (Mac OS 8.6 or later requires CarbonLib 1.1 or later), or Mac OS X
(DP4 or later supported). At the time of writing, Apple Computer Inc. has
made v1.0.4, v1.2, and v1.2.5 of CarbonLib publically available to
end-users; other versions are available to members of the Apple Developer

E-mail adress: MichelColman@kagi.com

Description:

This new version 1.2 includes a training mode so you can make the game go
slower/faster, use a bigger paddle, practice a specific level, etc...
Colibricks is an exciting brick game for the Macintosh. The goal of the game
is to destroy all bricks using one or more balls. Unlike other brick games,
it features accurate ball behaviour, using very precise physical laws. Balls
bounce off corners correctly, and even bounce with each other. And instead
of boring horizontal grids, Colibricks features rotated bricks, even making
circles and spirals with them. Graphics are antialiased with beautiful
backgrounds.
Of course, it's also a lot of fun. With special kinds of bricks that
activate special effects or spawn prize balloons. Balls can grow or shrink
to any size.
The demo lets you play 6 levels of various difficulties. After registering,
you'll get access to all 50 levels.

Sometime ago, the appearance of Times Bold on my PowerBook changed
systematically into Times Bold Italic. Among the responses to my query as
to which might have caused this was one that pointed to the culprit. Much
as I would have liked to accuse a certain Bill G. of meddling with my
computer it turned out that the Equation Editor that came with the free
version of Nisus Writer installed a suitcase with (among other things)
Times bitmap fonts. That, apparently, sufficiently confused the Finder. I
dumped the ``Nisus Equation Tool Fonts'' and everything works again as it
should.
Many thanks for all responses,

Before you do anything, check the battery. At the back of the machine,
push down the two tabs take off the back plastic that covers the ports.
Remove two screws from the upper corners. Undo the 'bail' - the wire
handle - and pull out the logic board. The battery is the square thing at
the right front (looking from the back). Pull up the connector and put a
voltmeter to the red & black leads. I'll bet it reads less than 2 volts.

The Performas will not even peep when the battery is dead. Every Performa
I've taken in needed a battery. If the voltage is less than 3.0 volts,
Apple says replace it.

The hard part is getting it off, the velcro is strong. It's a 4.5 volts
DC Alkaline. A new one runs around $10.

While you're in there, max out your RAM; do yourself a favor. All the
best, del

I find it rather disconcerting that Info_mac would archive what is,
despite the disclaimer, essentially spamware.

While the SMTP header may 'avoid spamming uses', it isn't clear just
how, especially since there is no way to check that the mailer's
list is (confirmed) opt-in.

I think Microshaft Equation Editor puts some Times Italic fonts in
its folder. I usually toss them, since we already have Times Italic
fonts in the system. Look in the Equation Editor Fonts suitcase
inside the Fonts folder inside the System Folder and see what's
there. If you see any Times Italic fonts, trash them and restart. See
if that solves the problem
