Subject: (Q) Entourage to Eudora

Dear Digest readers,
Please reply directly to my e-mail address above. Is anyone aware of
an exporter that will take e-mail out of Microsoft Entourage and
convert it to something Eudora can read? I have over 33 MB of E-mail
to convert. It would be a boon for me, since I don't like MacOS X's
Mail, and Eudora for MacOS X while beta is leagues ahead of anything
else available for X now.

Thank you.
Sincerely,
abrody@nospam.smart.net

Subject: [*] 24U Appearance OSAX 1.1.1

Appearance OSAX is a scripting addition that gives you the features
you always missed when writing scripts using AppleScript and wanted
to interact with a user. The four features available since version
1.0 let you pop-up Appearance savvy movable non-blocking alerts,
floating text messages, floating progress indicators, and post
standard system notifications.

The 1.1.1 update also adds a brand new command called "display better
dialog" which is a powerful replacement for the standard-but-limited
"display dialog" command included with every Mac OS installation.

However, even with these five powerful features, Appearance OSAX
stays almost as easy to understand and easy to use as the original
Apple's scripting additions. So unlike other 3rd-party dialog
utilities for AppleScript, Appearance OSAX can do its good job for
you within only few minutes after you download it.

Since the year 2000, 24U s.r.o. is committed to software development,
modification and distribution, creating custom software solutions,
and providing training and consultations for users of Mac OS and
Windows.

We offer solutions for people, not for computers.

HTML-Optimizer 5.0

What it is: Tool to check and optimize your web pages incl. images.
Author: Ton Brand
Company: Ton's Software
License: Shareware US$10
Computer: PowerPC or iMac
Mac OS: 7.5.3 or later
Abstract:
HTML-Optimizer is the ideal tool for managing your web site. It checks your
web pages for broken links and dangling tags and optimizes both text and
graphic files.
The program offers 5 functions plus a number of useful options that make
working with HTML-Optimizer very easy. Especially the new 'duplimize'
feature comes in handy for uploading an optimized web folder. The program
has a built-in Manual and Balloon Help is supported too.
The five basic functions of HTML-Optimizer are:
1. Optimizing HTML code by removing unnecessary characters and tags, which
results in faster loading of your pages in your client's browser. Embedded
script code, e.g. JavaScript, is not ruined. Graphic file resources, which
are of no use on the web, are removed, saving 10 to 80 % of space.
2. Checking the so called tagged pairs, i.e. the tags that always have to
appear together with their end tags. Further, IMG tags are checked for
Width, Height and Alt attributes. Missing attributes are added with values
which are automatically detected.
3. Checking the validity of the internal hyperlinks, 8 levels deep.
4. Marking dangling tags and missing attributes to find and fix them
quickly.
5. Converting special characters to the &....; notation.
Version 5.0 has a renewed user interface and can optimize JavaScript code as
well. A number of minor bugs has been fixed.

Subject: [*] X-Assist 0.4J - Japanese Version

This is the Japanese version of the X-Assist package.

X-Assist was created to assist in the much loved but missing features of
OS 9 in OSX.

*Application Switcher Menu (top right corner of screen)
X-Assist has a similar implementation.

*More than a 5 item "Recent Applications" menu.
X-Assist has no "limit".

*The ability to add personal hierarchies of items in an OS9-like "apple" menu.
X-Assist allows users to add any hierarchy into a "Shortcuts" submenu.

*An extensible "Control Strip" like plugin architecture.
X-Assist supports Objective-C (NSBundle) plugins. They are easy to write,
and examples "SetVolume" and "MP3 Player" plugins are provided in this distribution.

*OS 9 window behavior - when you switch applications by clicking in a
window, all windows for that application are shown. This behavior has
changed in OSX and can be a bit annoying. X-Assist brings back the OS9
windowing functionality and also allows you to toggle between modes.

How much does it cost?

Its FREE!

Check out the following Shareware application which may also interest

I sometimes compare folders on my home machine to folders on my office

a Finder window.

If I cmd-click on the title, I can get a pop-up showing the path but I

Does this bother anyone else?
