Subject: Update Notice: Synod Session 6/17/96 Schedule

Update Notice: Calvin Professor's Views on Abortion, One Calendar Week Synod,
Publications, Board of Trustees Bylaws Scheduled for Debate on Monday

 While relations with the Gereformeerde Kerken in Nederland will take up much
of the Christian Reformed synod's time on Monday morning, other issues are on
the agenda as well. Among them are the report of an advisory committee
regarding allegations by Classis Wisconsin that Calvin College professor Dr.
Hessel Bouma's published views on abortion are contrary to the official
pro-life stand of the CRC. The afternoon and evening sessions are scheduled
to hear reports of advisory committees on such matters as designing a
schedule to allow synod to meet in one week rather than two weeks,
denominational publications, and approval of the proposed bylaws for the CRC
Board of Trustees.
