What Is The GIMP?

The GNU Image Manipulation Program, or "GIMP" for short, is a cool freeware image editing program from the keyboards of Spencer Kimball and Peter Mattis that runs on most UNIX operating systems that provide an X11 display.

The GIMP works much like Adobe® PhotoShop^TM and has a flexible plug-in and scripting interface to extend its capabilities. Full details can be found on The GIMP homepage.

My Plug-Ins

I've written a lot of plug-ins for The GIMP, including:

• Despeckle - an image despeckling filter.
• Sharpen - an image sharpening filter.
• PNG - a PNG image file plug-in.
• SGI - an SGI image file plug-in.
• Print - a file printing plug-in.
