Egypt's national railways ENR got 40 locomotives of the type EMD JT42CWRM in 2009. In Europe these same locomotives
would be called "Class 66" according to the British naming system. However, the Egyptian class 66 machines are not identical with their
European counterparts. They have been built to sustain difficult condtions such as sand storms, they have reinforced fronts and a more effective
air conditioning system to cool the driver's cab. Note the big box-like structure on top of the cab, that is the bigger and more effective
air cooler.
This locomotive no.4005 is one of six class 66 machines which were refurbished in 2016. It has a new Caterpillar engine.
