Renfe Avant is the brand name of medium distance high speed trains, the fast counterpart of Renfe Media Distancia.
Avant services run at a maximum speed of 250 km/h, compared to the 300 km/h maximum speed of the AVE service.
Their routes usually cover different provinces within the same autonomous community or between neighboring ones.
This train is one of the S 104 series of Renfe. It's a Pendolino train built by Alstom and CAF in 2003. It has
a top speed of 250 km/h and can take up to 237 passengers. It's a further development of the ETR 460 and ETR 480
trains of the former Fiat Ferroviaria. These trains are used on routes that are shorter than 1,5 hours in driving time.
