Results of the DDGA'97

The second thematic DDG e-mail tournament started in October 1997 with 30 players from 14 countries. The players were divided into 10 sections, and the section winners went to the final in May 1998. Unfortunately, only three section winners were enthusiastic enough to participate in the final.

The finalists played two games against each other. This time the DDG proved a poor opening: Black won four games, two games ended in draw. The first prize (fame and glory!) was shared by all three finalists as everybody got 2 points out of 4 games.

Congratulations to the winners: Rüdiger Löschnauer (Austria), Olavi Mörsky (Finland) and Per Söderberg (Sweden).
