What's in this book?

This manual explains how to install and configure the Netscape FastTrack Server. After configuring your server, use this manual to help maintain your server.

The Programmer's Guide, which is available online in HTML when you click the Contents button in the help window, contains information about programming functions and CGI scripts for use with your server.

After you install the server, this book and the Programmer's Guide are available in HTML format in bin/httpd/admin/html/manual in your server root directory.

Conventions used in this book

Monospaced font

This typeface is used for any text that you should type. It's also used for functions and examples.

Boldface

Boldface type is used for user interface items, such as button names, icons, and fields.

Sidebar text marks important information. Make sure you read the information before continuing with a task.

The vertical bar is used as a separator for user interface elements. For example, File|New means you should click the File menu and select New; Server Status|Log Preferences means you should click the Server Status button in the Server Manager and click the Log Preferences link.
