What is Web Album Creator?

Web Album is a simple program that will create a nicely-formatted HTML page of pictures that it recognizes (.JPG, .BMP, etc). It will insert formatting to reduce any pictures that are larger than your screen, so you will not have to scroll right and left to see the entire image. The HTML is very basic, so you can go in with a text editor and make whatever manual changes you would like.

Installation

There is no installation required. Simply copy the program into a folder of its own, and then if desired, establish a shortcut to it.

How Do You Use Web Album Creator?

1.       Create a folder (directory) containing all of the pictures that you wish to exist in your web page.

2.       Start the program.

3.       Navigate to the folder (or directory) that contains the pictures.

4.       Supply a web page title- This is the text that will be used as the title of the web page (obviously)

5.       Supply a filename (no extension necessary).

6.       Check the check box if you want html to be generated containing text that you can replace with actual descriptions.

7.       Edit descriptions. They are saved in a text file called @.GWA.

8.       Create an E-Mail address include file (Email.INC). This is a pure text file, containing HTML for the user to click on to initiate an e-mail.

9.       Press the “Create Album” button. The program will create the following files:

9.1.  A Thumbnails include file (TN.INC)

9.2.  A Pictures include file (PICS.INC)

9.3.  A Date Last Modified include file (DLM.INC)

9.4.  A “source file (filename.SRC). This file contains includes for the thumbnails (tn.inc), pictures (pics.inc), e-mail address (email.inc), and date last modified comment (dlm.inc). Note: If the source file already exists, the program will leave it alone.

10.  The program will then copy the .SRC file, expanding the includes, and create the final .HTML file. This .HTML file will always be replaced.

The program will remember all of your settings from one execution to the next by storing these settings in an .INI file. It will save an .INI file in each directory that you create an album page for.
